How do I download the meditation?
After you pay for the meditation using your paypal account or credit card, a link to the meditation will be sent to your email. All you have to do is click on the link and log into the site again. Save the file to your desktop or media folder and then add it to your play list and download to ipod/mp3 player or burn it to a cd and use your portable cd player.
Will the meditation work if I don’t do it walking?
Yes and no. The majority of meditations are designed to be walking meditations, they build upon the good feelings(hormones released from physical activity) created from exercise to allow you access a better frame of mind and choose feelings that help you stay motivated and connected. If you choose not to walk with the meditation you will still benefit but the power of the meditation increases with walking.
Some of the meditations are meant to be practiced lying or sitting. These meditations are clearly marked as a lying or sitting meditation.
Can I order a cd of the meditations?
At Walking Bliss, we try to be as green as possible. CDs are full of stuff that isn’t biodegradable (polycarbonate and aluminum) and if incinerated releases nasty fumes. Until corn discs are available, we offer downloads only. BUT since most of our meditations are meant to be done whilst walking, you’d have to transfer the file to your mp3 or iPod anyway. In essence not only are we saving the planet, we are saving you time as well.
What type of meditation is this?
The meditations are a blend of awareness and focus meditations; eventually you will be able to integrate the techniques into your everyday life. When you absorb the techniques then you will be the meditation. These are a hybrid of traditional techniques; I have taken what has worked the best for me over the years and combined them in a powerful way to transform your life.
How long do I have to practice before feeling results?
This depends on how much you put into the meditation itself. The more regular your practice the more and quicker your life will flourish. If there’s part of you that doesn’t want it to work then you will have a harder time but if you keep with the meditations then you will feel happier and more at peace. Everyone is different, someone who is more open to the techniques will benefit faster than someone who isn’t. The techniques are meant to be established first in the walking meditations and then slowly you’ll find yourself incorporating them into your everyday and that’s when the results will really be noticeable. You do have to practice regularly until you do it naturally. For some people that may mean using one meditation for a few months to really understand it fully, others may only need to practice the technique for a couple of weeks. I suggest doing it at least for three weeks, 4-5 times a week before moving onto another meditation. Coming back to the meditation is always a good idea. The meditations have many layers that only make themselves apparent when you are ready to hear them.
Is there a specific order that I should practice the meditation in?
With the majority of meditations, no. They are all complimentary and will build upon each other no matter what order you do them in. I suggest choosing a meditation that you feel excited about doing.
If you don’t know where to start, here’s a beginning list of meditations that will set you up for all the other meditations:
- Awareness Body
- Minding Your Awareness
- Acceptance
Are there any side effects* from practicing these meditations?
Yes. They include but are not limited to:
- Increased ability to give and receive love.
- Increased desire to allow things to happen, rather than make them happen.
- Feeling connected with others and nature.
- Spontaneous fits of smiling.
- Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
- Ability to enjoy each moment.
You should not practice these meditations if you are not truly interested in being happy.
